Walk by Faith

Stop walking by sight. I can hear you out there, worrying, fretting, working yourself into a frenzy...where is it, God...when will You answer...when will it happen? What am I going to do, I keep begging, but it's not happening.

What you are saying, in essence, is that you don't have it yet. That God hasn't decided to answer yet, or He might not, or He's trying to teach you something by making you wait. Or, you're not getting it because you don't deserve it, or [fill in the denominational lie here].

You are walking by sight, not by faith, no matter how many tapes you've listened to or how many times a day you repeat the memorized confession list you've downloaded from the internet. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just trying to make a point that I think will help.

The Real Truth
1) God has already answered your prayer, in the positive, according to His Word. 'For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.' [2 Corinthians 1:20]

If you've prayed according to His promises [and there's one to cover every eventuality] in Him it is 'yes.' When? Now. You are in Him, and He is in you. Now I know that every Christian has heard the sermon 'Sometimes the Answer is No' during his or her lifetime, maybe more than once. It goes something like 'The reason your prayer may not be answered the way you want is that sometimes God answers 'No'

What this is is a giant rationalization. Since people's prayers are not answered, religious doctrine has determined that it must be God's plan. Because we haven't been trained to walk in the fullness of the power within, we often miss it, and this is the explanation given [or some variation thereof]. However, one thing is clear...we are one with Jesus and with the Father, and He withholds nothing from Himself. '...all things belong to you, and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.' [1 Corinthians 3:22,23]

2) Christ bore the curse of disobedience and sin for us. 'Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us--for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.' [Galatians 3:14,15] Romans 8:1,2 explains the consequence of this fact: 'Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.' So whatever you have done, and whatever you will do, is covered by the Blood of the Lamb.

The whole unworthy lie? Forget it. You've been made the righteousness of God in Christ. [2 Corinthians 5:21]

Faith
Faith is the assurance [substance, actual existence] of things hope for, the conviction [proof] of things NOT SEEN. [Hebrews 11:1]

Not only is our faith the assurance of things hoped for, it is the actual substance of it! So stop walking by sight...the righteous shall live by his faith. [Habakkuk 2:4]
