'Forever, O LORD, Your Word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands. They stand this day according to Your ordinances, for ALL THINGS ARE YOUR SERVANTS.' [Psalm 119:89-91]
Compare this with 1 Corinthians 3:21-23...
'For ALL THINGS belong to you, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; ALL THINGS belong to you, and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.' [1 Corinthians 3:21-23]
All things, all things, all things.
The Hebrew word for thing is dabar....translated both word and thing, because words are things.
We are heirs of God and fellow-heirs with Christ, one Spirit with the Lord. [Romans 8:17, 1 Corinthians 6:17]
Galatians 3 and Romans 4 tell us that Abraham was appointed heir of the world, and that in Christ, we are Abraham's descendants, HEIRS according to promise!
And whatever we bind, or forbid, ON EARTH shall HAVE BEEN bound in heaven; whatever you loose, or release, ON EARTH shall HAVE BEEN bound in heaven. Jesus called these the keys of the kingdom of heaven, which the Father has gladly given us! [Matthew 16:19, Luke 12:32]
"ALL THINGS are possible to HIM WHO BELIEVES." [Mark 9:23]
All things are God's servants, or slaves...and they now belong to us in Jesus! We have been given power to bind and loose them IN THE EARTH, because it is already established that they should obey us in heaven.
So?
What do you do with servants or slaves? YOU TELL THEM WHAT TO DO...and they do it, or else.
That's why Jesus told us to talk to things and they would obey. That's why the Old Testament is full of examples of men and women speaking words that changed physical circumstance. That's why Psalms and Proverbs are full of examples and instruction on using the mouth.
God called David a man after His heart. [Acts 13:22] Read his Psalms and take note of every time he says 'I said...' and then look to see what he said!
Psalm 91 is a great example...
"I will SAY to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!" [Psalm 91:2]
The rest of Psalm 91 is the RESULT of David's words. The protection and salvation outlined in verses 3 -16 are the direct consequence of what he said in verse 2!
How about when David faced Goliath? Read about it in 1 Samuel 17 and pay special notice of what David said. He told Goliath what he was going to do, and then he did it! As Kenneth Copeland says, David shot his mouth off, and Goliath shot his mouth off. David's mouth won!
Why? Because he was in covenant with God, and part of that covenant was '...from the fruit of a man's mouth he enjoys good...' [Proverbs 13:2]
Hallelujah!
Just Do It
So if all things now belong to us, they are our servants, too! Command those servants! Tell them to go, or come, or whatever you need them to do.
If you've followed this blog for any length of time, you know one of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 68:11,12.
'The Lord gives the command [word, promise]; the women who proclaim the good tidings [good news] are a great host: [and this is what they said...] "Kings of armies flee, they flee, and she who remains at home will divide the spoil!"' [author's comments]
They may have been behind the lines, but they were just as responsible for the army's victory as the men who fought! And they DIVIDED THE SPOIL!!!
I can't stand it!
Do it today. Exercise your right to command all things.
Sorry for all of the !!! marks...I just couldn't help it.
