Can I Get That For You?

Imagine trudging toward your hotel with heavy bags, when, to your delight, a hotel employee comes towards you and asks "Can I get that for you?"
To which you reply, gratefully, "Thanks so much! Here you go!" and hand over the heavy bags.
What just happened? The hotel employee bore your bags...and guess what? You don't have them anymore!
Of course, you could say "No" and keep them...pull a muscle, develop a hernia, etc. Then you'd be bearing the bags. You can choose to carry them if you want.

What?
Isaiah 53:4 says 'Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried...'
What exactly does that mean? Sounds pretty vague to me. I wonder what constitutes a grief or a sorrow?
The actual translation is 'Surely our sickness He Himself bore, and our pains He carried...'
Now that actually means something to me...I know what sickness and pain is...it's not vague, but specific and very meaningful.
Just as in our example, Jesus bore [past tense] or carried our sickness and pain...He took it, so we don't have to.
He bore it and now we don't have it anymore! Don't take it back by the words of your mouth...be thankful for what He has done!
Take advantage of the blessings that are already yours. He paid a big price to make His blessings available to us.
