Heirs

'God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.' [Hebrews 1:1-3]

This is a fabulous scripture, full of wonderful truth for us. Let's look at it point by point...

Heir of All Things
First, God appointed Jesus heir of all things. He is the very fulfillment of the Blessing of Abraham, who God promised would be heir of the world [Romans 4:13].

But wait...we are called the heirs of God, and fellow heirs with Christ! [Romans 8:17]

How about these scriptures?

'...all things belong to you, and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.' [1 Corinthians 3:22,23]

"Do not be afraid, little flock, for you Father has chosen GLADLY to give you the kingdom." [Luke 12:32]

'Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, Who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.' [1 Timothy 6:17]

'So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer...and if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise.' [Galatians 3:9,29]

Abraham was promised that he would be heir of the world, and Jesus is the fulfillment of that promise. He is the Seed of Abraham, and we are too!

Exact Representation of His Nature
Jesus is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature.

Guess what? So are we!

Remember—we are One Spirit with Him—dead, buried, raised up together with Him, seated with Him in heavenly places. Full of God, strengthened with all power in our inner man. [Colossians 1:11, Ephesians 3:16-21]

Paul said it this way:

"I have been crucified with Christ ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." [Galatians 2:20]

If we could see ourselves in the Spirit, we would look just like Jesus, Who looks just like God. We are HIs Body in the earth, with His authority and power--He has freely given us all things with Jesus [Romans 8:32]

God knows it, and Satan knows it. Angels know it—they are ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation! [Hebrews 1:14]

The only ones who don't know it is us. The Deceiver has hoodwinked us into powerless, pathetic creatures who are merely shadows of what they're really called to be.

Upholds All Things By The Word of His Power
Meditate on this phrase. It doesn't say 'by the power of His Word'...it says 'by the WORD of His power!'

What's the difference?

The very Word of His power is upholding all things—the all things that He [and we] are heirs of! It is the Word of His power that has established all things—John 1 tells us that He is the Word, with God in the beginning, and that all things came into being through Him! He was in the world and the world was made through Him!

If it was the 'power of His Word' He would have to continually speak different words to uphold different things...but the Word of His Power is just POWER...that that word of POWER upholds all things!!

Who is He upholding all things for?

For us! Because in Him all things belong to us! He's upholding them for us!!! We are His fellow heirs!

Speak to the Mountain
That's why He told us to speak to mountains and trees...and why He demonstrated authority in the earth by speaking to storms and donkeys and fish and trees and sick or dead bodies! Then He turned around and explained that talking to physical things is having faith in God! [Mark 11:22-24]

Then He said we would do greater works than He did! [John 14:12]

As He Is...
We are One Spirit with Him, His Body in the earth. 1 John 4:17 tells us that '...AS HE IS, SO ALSO ARE WE IN THIS WORLD.'

As He is, we are in this world!
