Praying in the Spirit

What is 'praying in the Spirit' anyway? Some passed-away mystery that no one wants to talk about [except those who practice it, of course]? Is it too wierd or strange for prime-time? Have we seen too many movies with psychos babbling the same nonsensical word over and over until we're too freaked out by the very idea? Hmmm...wonder why that is? It wouldn't have anything to do with power, would it?
Think about this...if we are One Spirit with the Lord [which we are] and our spirits have died and Christ now lives in us [which He does] AND He is the Exact Representation of His Nature and Radiance of His Glory [which He is] that is living inside these earthen vessels, perhaps praying in the Spirit is really Jesus praying through us! Bypassing the un-renewed mind that is a stronghold against our walking in the full power and blessing that is already our in Christ Jesus...what if?
We know that Wisdom speaks, and that Jesus has become to us Wisdom. [Proverbs 8,9; 1 Corinthians 1:30] How does Wisdom speak from within us?
The Holy Spirit's Prayers Get Answered
1 Corinthians 14:14 says 'For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful...' Thank God! Most of the time my un-renewed mind is fighting against me, telling me why it won't work, it doesn't really mean that, it's not going to work out for me this time, yada yada yada...
Romans 8:26,27 sums it up perfectly. 'In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He Who searches the hearts know what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints [holy ones] according to the will of God.'
[I know some teach that this means praying in the Spirit means you have to groan and roll on the floor...but the verse says the groanings are too deep for words, and a tongue, or language, is made up of words...]
Think about it. The Radiance of His Glory, The Exact Representation of His Nature praying from within you, for you, through your lips, bypassing your mind so it can't tell you why it's impossible. And praying according to the will of God for you...that which is good and acceptable and perfect! [Romans 12:2]
And let's face it...your mind is the only problem you've got!
Whatever you've heard or seen or think you know, think about it anyway. Tell the Father you want Him to pray though you--that you want to be baptized [immersed] into His Holy Spirit--see it, believe it, receive it by faith! And rejoice in the Lord!
