Christians glibly profess ‘God said it, that settles it…’ and continue to live in sickness, death and lack. They fight the message of faith—refusing to speak to the mountains and trees in their lives, refusing to confess the Word of God for their needs because they’re being humble, or worse—because ‘God is sovereign, whatever happens must be from Him.’
Boy, what an opportunity to swear! It breaks my heart to see my brothers and sisters…and in some cases, me, go without the good gifts from God because of error and unbelief.
Jesus said [very clearly, I might add] in John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I cam that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” An alternative translation of that verse is “…have abundance.” [see Deuteronomy 28:48]
Jesus said “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.”
He said it. God, in Christ, said it. Therefore, since God cannot lie [Titus 1:2] it is spiritual law.
Have you ever wondered why God cannot lie? Because if He says it, it has to come to pass. Even if it started out as a lie, before He got through it would be the truth! For example, if He said ‘dog’ where there was no dog, it wouldn’t be a lie because by the time He got the word ‘dog’ out, there’d be a dog there! What He says is His will, and it comes to pass. God’s word is truth— it’s how He creates!
Paul tells us that’s how we are born again—we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. [Romans 10:9]
So if Jesus, Who we know to be God, told us to speak to things to command them, then it is not only His will but established spiritual law! And not only something really lucky if we can get it to work, but our calling! We are told to take authority in the earth! How? By speaking words of power, faith and purpose.
